Hidden Benefits of Eating Meat

For decades it’s been commonly thought that eating meat is bad for your health. Is this really the case? In the last two decades, nutritional deficiencies have driven chronic disease in millions of people including tooth decay and gum disease.

Meat, and specifically red meat is a source of many key nutrients including the fat-soluble vitamins, which cannot be obtained from plant-based

So should you be eating more meat? Recently an argument that livestock including cows are harmful to the environment.

For a full perspective on meat, my guest today is Diana Rodgers, RD, a nutritionist with a focus on “real food” and sustainability advocate near Boston, Massachusetts. She is the co-author of ‘Sacred Cow’ which has an accompanying documentary.

We explore the question on whether a healthy, sustainable, and conscientious food system exist without animals.

I love Diana’s work because it probes the moral, environmental and nutritional questions we face in raising and eating animals. She also takes sharp focus on the most maligned of farmed animals, the cow.
